SSD Timeline

Spring (prior to the testing year)

The SSD Coordinator from your school should submit SSD Student Eligibility Forms for all students who need accommodations on College Board tests.

In order to guarantee that you receive the appropriate practice materials for the PSAT/NMSQT, we ask that your school submit all completed eligibility forms by June 15.

August

SSD Coordinators receive a copy of the SSD Student Eligibility Letter and a roster of all students who have requested accommodations and those that have been already approved.

Fall

Before each SAT administration, the SSD Coordinator receives a roster of students approved for school testing accommodations.

September

PSAT/NMSQT — All forms should be submitted by September 12 to ensure the timely delivery of test materials. Five weeks before the PSAT/NMSQT, schools receive rosters of students eligible for accommodations, allowing verification of the students and the ordering of nonstandard formats of the test. This is the last opportunity to submit forms for students who wish to receive accommodations.

October

PSAT/NMSQT — The PSAT/NMSQT Nonstandard Administration Report form with names of eligible students is sent to SSD Coordinators. This form needs to be completed and returned with the answer sheets from the test. Only students with SSD codes can be added to the existing list.

Winter

If you are an eligible student who plans to take College Board tests in the spring, be sure that you have submitted the SSD Student Eligibility Form.

February

Five weeks before AP Exam day, schools receive rosters of students eligible for accommodations, allowing verification of the students and the ordering of nonstandard formats of the test. This is the last opportunity to submit forms for students who wish to receive accommodations on an AP Exam.

April

The AP Nonstandard Administration Report form with names of eligible students is sent to SSD Coordinators.

Reminders

You must iinclude documentation for review, and use the earlier Disability Documentation deadline, if any of the following apply: (a) "other impairment" is designated as your only disability; (b) the student has been declassified or no formal plan is in place; (c) your first official educational plan was created less than four school months ago, or you are requesting accommodations that have not been provided and/or used for the past four school months; (d) the testing is not current; (e) school documentation does not include results from both a cognitive ability test and a academic achievement test (except for certain physical/visual conditions); (f) you are requesting more than 100% extended time; (g) you are requesting a computer; OR (h) you are requesting testing accommodations not listed on the Eligibility Form?

When submitting the SSD Student Eligibility Form, you must complete the first two pages of the form, along with a completed SAT Registration Form, and give it to your counselor to complete pages 3 and 4 of the school verification section. Remember, the form should not be separated; all four pages should remain together for proper scanning. Both forms should then be mailed in an SSD envelope. This needs to be received by the registration deadline for whichever SAT administration you wish to take.
