Subject Tests in Languages with Listening
Information About Subject Tests in Languages with Listening
If you are planning to take a listening test, you should know:
- The listening tests include: Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Spanish. Other language tests are reading-only tests.
- You must bring an acceptable portable CD player with earphones to the test center. The test supervisor will not have additional batteries, CD players, or earphones for use on test day.
- Listening tests are offered only during the November SAT administration, and only at designated test centers.
- You may take only one listening test in November. You may also take up to two other Subject Tests offered in November. See the SAT Subject Test Calendar to find out which Subject Tests are offered in November.
- If you are registered for a listening test and you change your mind on test day, you may substitute a different Subject Test. However, you may not change to a listening test in a different language at the test center, since materials will not be available. In addition, you cannot switch from a non-listening test to a listening test on test day, since materials will not be available. If you want to change from one listening test to another, you must do so by the late registration deadline date. See Making Changes.
- The Language Tests with Listening may only be taken during the first hour of testing.
